Remote Certified Medical Coder and Biller
Location: Remote (Dallas, TX)
Pay Rate: $23.50/hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

We are seeking a Certified Medical Coder and Biller to join our team in a fully remote position. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient claims and medical records, supporting the overall efficiency of our healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Review patient claims for accuracy, ensuring all necessary information is included.
Assign correct medical codes and ensure proper sequencing according to government and insurance regulations.
Follow and maintain compliance with established medical coding guidelines and policies.
Verify and review patient charts and medical documents for accuracy.
Collaborate with staff to clarify unclear information and address discrepancies.
Collect data from physicians and other healthcare sources to prepare monthly reports.
Implement strategic procedures and evaluation methods to ensure accurate coding and billing results.
Analyze and investigate potential medical malpractice by reviewing diagnoses, medical procedures, and events.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Associate degree in business, finance, health administration, or a related field.
Experience: 2+ years in a primary care clinic setting (preferred).
Certified medical coder (e.g., CPC, CRC, CCS, or CCS-P) through AAPC or AHIMA.
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT, Category II, and/or E/M coding.
Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (e.g., eCW, EPIC).
Familiarity with MS Office products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A collaborative team player with high emotional intelligence.
Ability to make independent decisions in line with business objectives.
