About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO), Investments to join their team. The CRO will have a pivotal role in enterprise-wide risk management, with a focus on asset risk. This includes the identification, measurement, monitoring, and management of various risk types such as credit, FX, market, liquidity, and capital. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Risk Officer to design and implement a robust risk strategy, oversee the company's key risk exposures, and lead risk assessments of new investment proposals. The role also involves managing a dedicated investment risk staff, maintaining risk policies, and ensuring the delivery of risk monitoring and reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors. The CRO will be a steward of the company's risk governance, setting key economic assumptions, and will be part of the executive risk leadership group. Applicants for the CRO, Investments position should have a minimum of 15 years of relevant financial services experience, with a specific background in investment risk management, and a strong preference for those with experience in capital markets. The role requires a deep understanding of trading and market risk functions, as well as the ability to link related risks across different pools. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree along with a CFA, MBA, FSA, or other quantitative risk designation, and a proven track record of project management and excellent communication skills. Key responsibilities include enforcing risk policies, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and collaborating with various teams including the Chief Investment Officer and legal. Personal characteristics should include a focus on continuous improvement, a sense of urgency, and strong collaboration and influencing skills.
