Our flagship office is in Sydney Australia but weve made our way from down under to hubs in Austin and San Francisco which are now home to our US operations.

What youd be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.

Canva is seeking a businessminded attorney with a solid understanding of technology contracts and experience in managing and negotiating a high volume of commercial transactions. 

You will help Canva continue its growth and success by supporting contracting for Sales Procurement Canva for Education and strategic partnerships. You will join a dynamic global legal team working on a variety of innovative legal issues across the entire company.  You will be required to leverage your expertise good judgment and strong business sense to assess and mitigate legal risk while finalizing contracts at a fast pace. 

What youll do:

• Review draft and negotiate commercial agreements with vendors customers and partners.
• Respond promptly to legal requests from stakeholders across the business. 
• Keep current on relevant industry standards laws and regulations including data privacy laws international complexities as well as AI!
• Advise on contract process improvements

Youre probably a match if:

• You have admission to one bar with a strong technical background and handson experience contracting at a fastpaced technology company.
• You are excited to roll up your sleeves learn the business and proactively identify and analyze opportunities and risks.
• You have excellent communication skills and can make complex communications simple.
• You are comfortable participating in crossfunctional and internationally distributed teams. 
• You are risk aware not risk averse.
• You are a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a collegial attitude.
• You have experience using tools such as our very own Canva Ironclad and Docusign
• You are comfortable getting on the phone with customers and are able to prioritize and effectively set and balance expectations.
