We're looking for Preschool Teachers!

HONOLULU AREA PRESCHOOLS

We’re Kama’aina Kids , Hawaiʻi’s Enrichment & Education Professionals since 1987. We’re looking for new team members to help us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of our youngest learners! Bring your love of children and past experience in childcare or early childhood education to our dedicated and caring team. While prior experience working with children is helpful, it is not required. We will provide full training for the right candidate!

QUALIFICATIONS:

For Preschool Teachers:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with Preschool Children in a licensed preschool or childcare setting. 
  • 12 college credits in Child Development/Early Childhood Education or CDA (We can provide a CDA free of charge!)


“A day in the life” of a Teacher may look like this:

  • Greeting the children and families as they arrive/leave for the day.
  • Implementing fun activities from our curriculum that focus on the development of young children. (We're so much more than a 'daycare'!)
  • Relaxing with preschoolers while singing & reading stories.
  • Encouraging physical activity while exploring the outdoors with the children.
  • Enjoying a relaxed meal after an adventurous science activity or creative art experience.
  • Ensuring that all children are safe, comfortable, secure and well-cared for.
  • Communicating with families about the children’s experiences that day.
  • Setting up the classroom for the next day of activities.
  • Going home with the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference!

No experience yet? If you've worked as a coach, scout leader, instructor or volunteered in a children's ministry - it counts! Babysitting, work as a Nanny, and caring for your own children can also prepare you for a role with us. We'll help you gain additional training and experience so your dream of working with children can come true!

Kama’aina Kids can help you qualify for a Teacher or Caregiver certification! role. We offer assistance in obtaining your CDA (Child Development Associate) at no cost to you ! Start your career journey as a " Teacher Assistant " and grow with us!
