Position Summary

The position of Maintenance Shop Manager is responsible for supporting and leading the Fraley and Schilling Rushville Shop within the Maintenance Department. The primary goal is to assist the Director of Maintenance with the daily responsibilities of the service department to ensure that responsibilities listed are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet individuals entering into the shop/parts area in a professional manner, while addressing any unsafe behavior, ensuring all visitors to the shop are safe.

• Develop, support, and enforce the Fraley and Schilling established service processes.

• Responsible for assigning daily workflow activities for technicians.

• Oversee all maintenance and parts at the terminal.

• Coordinating and scheduling of all vendor repairs.

• Reviewing and closing all RO’s with accuracy to ensure all parts are charged and labor times are adjusted accordingly.

• Minimize asset downtime by ensuring all repairs are completed in a timely manner.

• Train all maintenance staff on service procedures parts within the shop and the inventory of these parts.

• Oversee and manage shop scheduler, planner and TMT and parts workstation.

• Responsible for reviewing SSRS reports, scheduling of repairs, and keeping accurate records of shop planner and scheduler.

• Responsible for evaluating and training technician skills and recognizing opportunities for performance improvements.

• Perform monthly scrap tire analysis with our tire vendor on site where scrap tires are kept.

• Abides by all Safety Policies and requirements at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and use of various computer software

• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.

• Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.

• Must be able to deal with a fast paced and stressful work environment.

• Ability to coach and lead maintenance team to ensure all personnel are treated with respect and fairness.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree degree preferred or equivalent work experience

• 10+ years of transportation experience

• 10+ years of experience managing a parts department within a maintenance service center
