General Statement of Duties
This is a 260-day contract. The candidate must possess a comprehensive knowledge of pedagogy, learning theory, and current best practices for effective instruction.
Candidates must demonstrate abilities to:
•provide school-level leadership in the areas of language arts and/or math,
•work collaboratively with all members of the school and division team,
•d emonstrates knowledge and support of the mission and goals of Henrico County Public Schools.
Essential Duties
•Supports instruction in Henrico County by engaging in coaching cycles with Title I instructional coaches
•Collaborates with school-based instructional coaches, school staff, and division staff to identify, design, and deliver effective professional development with the goal of maximizing impact on student engagement and learning across Title I schools
•Supports school-based instructional coaches in analyzing data to identify professional development and learning needs
•Provides leadership and helps guide instruction in collaboration with other instructional staff including, but not limited to, exceptional education, gifted, remediation, volunteers, administration, and division-level coaches and specialists
•Collaborates with school-based instructional coaches to support the implementation of the HCPS Instructional Model, use of aligned curriculum, and integration of evidence-based practices in reading and math instruction
•Assists school-based instructional coaches with the selection of instructional materials that adhere to the HPCS-aligned curriculum, stimulate learning, and meet the needs of all students in a learner-centered classroom
•Collaborates with other Title I lead instructional coaches, Title I coordinator, and the Title I specialist, to identify division-wide Title I instructional needs and facilitate the requisition of materials and resources to benefit instructional practices and student engagement
•Stays abreast of current educational trends and best practices by engaging in personal professional learning to continue to build coaching skills and content knowledge
•Provides guidance in Title I compliance documentation
•Maintains a professional manner at all times when interacting with school and division staff, patrons, families, students, and community members
•Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
•Master's degree with a Reading Specialist or Math Specialist endorsement is required
•A minimum of three years of successful coaching experience in grades K-5 is required
•Prefer experience in Title I schools
Additional Information
Minimum annual starting salary $72,875 Masters, $76,373Doctorate.
